EXCURSION leros
discovery
The perfect excursion for discovering the island. We set out from Leros forest and up the mountain to the Monastery of the Angels, pausing to pick out the islands of Patmos, Lipsi and Arki in the stunning view. Then it’s off to the island’s western tip looking down on the Scrofa rock formation in the sea. From little St Efthymios’ church, we reach the peak where you can explore historic World War II remains, including the famous acoustic locator used to detect enemy aircraft. Exciting stuff!
